In 1994 I was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease at the height of my management career. I received my first Reiki session about 9 years ago when I was in the throes of dealing with this illness. I already had a couple of surgeries by then with more to come. A few years later I had regular Reiki sessions that gave me relief from my symptoms. Truthfully, I really didn’t understand how it worked, but it did!

Another part of my healing had to take place in the form of a career change. I have always been passionate about animals, so I endeavored to earn a living caring for them. Just like that! Everything fell into place. In 2004 I became owner of a pet sitting business www.PeacefulPetsPetSitting.com. I was amazed that I could earn a living from doing something so enjoyable and deeply rewarding. Working with animals continues to be a healing experience for me.

Even though I had many Reiki sessions for myself, it never occurred to me to become a practitioner until Animal Reiki came across my radar. My training began when I took a workshop taught by Kathleen Prasad, author of Animal Reiki: Using Energy to Heal the Animals in Your Life. I was hooked!

I am a Reiki Master Teacher. I received my Animal Reiki Teacher training from Kathleen Prasad. My lineage includes Usui Reiki Ryoho, Usui Shiki Ryoho, Unlimited Reiki,  and Karuna Ki. I am honored beyond expression to be a practitioner and to teach the system of Reiki. Once again, animals led me to another level of healing and service.

As a life-long student, I am also working on my Bachelor's degree at the American Institute of Holistic Theology. In addition, I am a certified 7 Rays Practitioner and an Ordained Minister of the Universal Life Church.

Reiki has been one of the most profound experiences of my life so far. I would like to honor and thank Usui Mikao for bringing the system of Reiki to us. I would like to also honor and thank my Reiki mentors, friends, and teachers: Kathleen Prasad, Patricia Squires, Jeni Prigmore, Laurie Filsinger, and Carla Stevens. Last but not least, all of the wonderful animals and people who have allowed me to offer Reiki and be a part of their process. They have all been great teachers!

Thank you so much for visiting Refreshing Reiki. It is my great honor and privilege to be of service to you.

In Love and Service,

Kay Robinson
